Reality goes on in spite of us, independent of our existence. Humans will witness only a tiny fraction of an infinitely small portion of it anyway — so why are we so damned self-absorbed?

About three years ago I took an image like this off the coast of Oregon. They are both good examples of the remarkable beauty we often take for granted. Tomorrow will look the same, but I don’t care because the clock is ticking.
