Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

This site drives and records a lot of our creativity, so it is important to us — yet, we know, like us, it will eventually die. Even with that knowledge we paradoxically still plan for its growth and procurement, which, if you think about it, is strange because we know nothing lasts forever. Regardless, this thing is at least a symbol of our creativity that, at least for now, we carry with us to remember our lives.

I don’t know why its growth is so comforting despite the seeming fact these words and images will only be consumed a few times in all of existence. Isn’t that singularity a strange thing to contemplate? Because in all of the history that humans or any other beings might ever live or record, these words, images, and ideas we create will only be seen once by a few, and never, ever again. Ever.

What a sobering thought: we are so self-absorbed with life — that we assume is important — when even the entire earth is just an electron, and our human society will never comprehend its place in the universe at any scale other than just a few thousand years out of perhaps infinity. So maybe we should stop taking all this so goddamn seriously.
