What is “self-improvement”? Is it an activity, an attitude, a process? Or perhaps it is all of these things.

Years ago I might have been more interested in finding out — but I can’t be sure whether that is really the case, that person is dead to me. Today it seems like the little I read on improving anything is based on bank rolls and not much else.

In the face of death, whether or not we are improving is ultimately irrelevant. Movement is probably a better goal, since seeking really has no purpose.

And besides, how can the self be improved upon by thought or intent or anything conscious? Wasn’t it consciousness that first ruined us and diverted our minds from empty, repetitive, thoughtlessly easy lives?
