I use this project primarily for journaling and self-reflection, but it’s also a kind of long-term documentary. Our family has a passive existence through these entries.

You can’t tell by the appearance, but that is why this is so appropriate.

Since we all interpret differently, the value of art is in the metaphor. Personal subjects are more deeply layered, although no one else knows the meaning.

He’s been working for over a year. Savings began a few years ago. Today he drives to work alone for the first time.

Few things affect me in general. I’m often pretty stoic when it comes to the kind of milestones parents talk about. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say a few tears snuck out into the world as he wove backwards down the driveway. His forward driving is much better, so I’m confident in him.
